Process

The Hand off 

Working with the wonderful people at Education Design Lab brings a lot of opportunities and challenges that helps me learn and grow as a designer. For this particular project, all of the ground work and copy for the publication was finished. It was being passed on to me to design the publication, so it can be posted on the Labs website and be handed off to stakeholders like Walmart and the Walmart Foundation.

Publication Development 

Designing a publication this size, required me to have an iterative and collaborative design process. Working with the education designers at the Lab, allowed me to communicate about them about the the key points they wanted me to highlight. With a project such as this,  I prefer to collaborate with key stakeholders as I value their vision, and I try to raise it to a level for the audience. 

I start my process by receiving the copy and asking one of the stakeholders to explain the outline, explain the target audience and the desired page number

For this particular project there was 3 separate publications we needed to design.
