Process
Research
For my thesis project for undergraduate degree at MICA, I choose to focus on a personal story on my heritage and the privileges my generation has. This was a very deep and personal journey that reflects on not just my story but the story of my parents, and essentially how I, personally, even exist.For the research, we had to experiment with different forms of exploration. I choose to interview my peers, friends and family around heritage and their own and create various forms (Menu, Infographic, Travel Guide) of design with it.
Development
After the preliminary project I began drafting ideas of what I wanted the actual thesis project to look like. I drafted ideas for a physical experience that would take the view through a story. I also began developing a visual identity, bringing in different type faces that represent the past and the future. I also wanted to bring in a lot of my own photography that I took from my first trip to El Salvador.I also interviewed my dad for his story, recording took over the course of 3 weeks with various levels of
